In December 2010, the Yakima Valley Museum was one of only 22 museums in the United States to be offered a Challenge Grant from the National Endowment For The Humanities. $500,000 was offered if the Yakima Valley Museum raises at least $1,500,000 additional by 2014. We want to make certain our descendants continue to learn from our stories, and share their stories too. You can ensure a future for the stories of the Yakima Valley by making a financial contribution with cash or stock, by pledging an amount over a three to five year period, and/or by making an irrevocable bequest. These gifts will be used in the following ways: Improved core and special exhibitions that allow the museum to continuously tell the compelling stories of everyone who made a new home in the Yakima Valley over the years, such as the Europeans, French-Canadians, Japanese, Filipinos, Northern Europeans, Mexicans, Basques and more. A place for children to experience more hands-on activities with the best of contemporary technology and traditional opportunities for constructive play. Improved areas where people can gather to discuss, celebrate, and learn the stories of the Yakima Valley. Most importantly, a permanent source of financial support for the museum's core mission to preserve and share these stories. Donate to the Yakima Valley Museum
